Throughout our many pilgrimages back to Iowa to reconnect with family on more than a few occasions Mom and her sisters would breakout in song. Looking back it’s hard to imagine a life without a camera phone let alone even having a digital camera at your disposable. I was fortunate to have, at the time, acquired a Sony Digital Elf camera. I know I enjoyed hearing them sing but I don’t know why I decided to recorded them. In a time without Facebook or YouTube dominating the culture it was not common place to record and ultimately share. Years after I recorded it I found the file on an old memory card. I was hoping not to misplace it again and wanting to share what I found with Mom I decided to upload it. Mom watched it and loved hearing it. 5 years later, almost to the date, our family was forever devastated. I can’t tell you how many times I have watched this video just to hear her voice. I will forever cherish capturing this moment in time.
